Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 A Bold Boost to Urban Rides
Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 series has grown this week. In addition to the 4 Pro electric scooter and the Ultra model already presented.
The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 stands out as a remarkable and innovative solution for urban commuting, providing a convenient, eco-friendly, and cost-effective mode of transportation. With its sleek design, impressive range, and user-friendly features, it has successfully captured the attention of commuters worldwide. Xiaomi’s commitment to quality and cutting-edge technology is evident in the electric scooter, offering a reliable and efficient alternative to traditional transportation methods.
There is now also a standard version and a Lite version, which has become much cheaper. The comparison shows the advantages and disadvantages of the four different scooters and the comparative technical specifications.
First impressions of the test drive
On the sidelines of the Xiaomi event in Milan, we had the opportunity to conduct the first short test drive with the new Xiaomi scooter models. Xiaomi’s €999 flagship model is the most fun. The e-scooter accelerates well, especially in the fastest of the three riding modes called “Sport+”. Moreover, the scooter flies over the gravel field of the test road thanks to the front and rear suspension.
Unfortunately, we were not allowed to chase the smaller models on the gravel terrain, despite the protective helmet. But even small irregularities on the event floor, such as laid down cables, are more noticeable on the Standard and Light models. Not only does it lack full suspension, but the Lite model’s tires are much smaller (8.5 inches) than the 10-inch tires on the standard and top models.
Of course, you can also feel the lower power of the two entry-level models. With 300 and 600W, the two scooters have to work much harder with almost 80kg than the 940W flagship. However, the difference in power does not affect the maximum speed. All e-scooters can reach the maximum permitted speed in Germany of 20 km/h and are regulated accordingly. Slopes are, of course, a completely different problem.
Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4, Lite, Pro and Ultra
The new base model in the series is called the Electric Scooter 4 Lite and it costs just €399 as per the RRP. But they are also equipped with primitive equipment. For example, the Lite is the only model with drum brakes. The motor and battery are also the weakest, with capacities of 300 Wh and 5200 mAh respectively. The format is also Lite: the entry-level scooter is lower, shorter, and has a narrower stand. The tires are also the smallest, at 8.5 inches, and provide the least amount of comfort while driving over rough terrain.
The Electric Scooter 4 offers more than you can chew in all areas for just €100 and is therefore the most interesting model if you can afford the extra price. In particular, the twice as powerful 600W motor and more powerful 7,650mAh battery are worth the extra cost, as are the disc brakes for added safety. Once we have the test units available, we will of course also do a direct braking comparison at top speed.
Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro has advantages over the standard model, especially in terms of performance. At maximum, the electric motor provides 700 watts of power. Otherwise, the model offers improvements in driving safety: it is equipped with ABS. On slippery surfaces, the anti-lock system ensures the 10-inch tires don’t slip out from under your feet when you brake too hard.
Finally, the 4 Ultra electric scooter is the flagship model of Xiaomi’s new scooter series. But at least we learned that the scooter in testing is a lot of fun. The full suspension ensures a smooth ride even on gravel.
